Garage with rooftop solar, a wall battery and an EV charger in late-morning sun.

Solar, battery and EV Your solar, working harder.

Most solar homes export their best hours to the grid for a few cents, then buy it back at night. Energy Connect moves the big loads into the sunshine.

One day

Run the dishwasher, pool or hot water on sunshine.

  1. Morning

The sun is up. The house runs on solar and the battery starts to charge.

  2. Noon

Solar is at its peak. The dishwasher and pool pump start on sunshine.

  3. Afternoon

The battery is nearly full, so the EV charger and hot water take the spare.

  4. Evening

Solar fades. The house runs from the battery instead of the grid.

In one place

Solar, battery and EV on one screen.

See it

What the panels are making, what the house is using and what's going to the grid, live and by the day.

Use it

Appliances wait for spare solar instead of a fixed timer. Cloudy days fall back to the cheapest hours.

Charge on it

The EV charger follows the sun, so the car fills from the roof, not the grid.

Brands we connect to

Works with the equipment you already have.

Some brands connect inside your home, so they keep working when the internet is down. Others go out to the maker's own online service. Both are useful. Only one keeps working in a blackout.

Anywhere in Australia

Already have solar? No electrician needed.

If your solar, battery or EV charger is already installed, Energy Connect is set up remotely. We send the hub, you plug it in, and we do the rest from here.

Set up remotely

  • Solar, battery and EV charger on one screen
  • The car charges from spare solar
  • Smart dishwashers and washing machines wait for sunshine

Melbourne and Sydney only

Hot water and pool pumps are wired in, so switching them needs our licensed electrical partner on site.

Integration only

We connect to your solar, battery and charger. We never install them, and we never change inverter or grid settings. That stays with your solar installer.

Virtual power plants

In a virtual power plant, your retailer decides when the battery discharges to the grid. Most of those contracts also say nothing else may control the battery — so while you're in one, we monitor it and automate everything else.

The federal battery rebate only asks that a battery can join a virtual power plant, not that it does. Some state incentives do require joining. Worth knowing before you sign either.

Questions

Before you ask us out.

Will it work with my inverter?

It depends on the make and model. Most major brands sold in Australia can be connected, and we confirm yours on a free call or at the site survey before anything is quoted.

I'm not in Melbourne or Sydney. Can you still help?

Yes, if your solar, battery or EV charger is already installed. We send the hub, you plug it in, and we set it up remotely. Hot water and pool pumps need an electrician, so those stay in Melbourne and Sydney.

Does it need the internet?

The energy side does, because it connects through the manufacturer's own service. Lights, switches, sensors and blinds keep working without it.

Can it charge my car from solar?

Where the charger can be connected, yes. Charging follows spare solar, so the car fills from the roof instead of the grid.

Do you change my solar settings?

No. Domotica connects to your solar, battery and charger and automates the house around them. Installing or changing that equipment stays with your solar installer.
